Howdy all,
Today was a very interesting day. We started off extremely slow. Then it
picked up nicely and held on until 1pm. Then it just died. We ended the day
with a
nice 42 birds. Not bad considering we only had 5 after the first two net runs
(usually our best net runs). Although nothing cosmic, we did catch a YELLOW
WARBLER. Finally caught out first CAROLINA CHICKADEE today. Seems dumb I know.
Only took 17 days! yikes.
Nothing too unusual, but a nice mix. And a few fat birds.
Here the totals:
American Redstart 9
Magnolia Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 1
Northern Waterthrush 4
Ovenbird 1
Common Yellowthroat 2
Yellow-breasted Chat 2
Traill's Flycatcher 3
Red-eyed Vireo 3
Veery 1
American Robin 2
Carolina Chickadee 2
Tufted Titmouse 2
Carolina Wren 1
Northern Cardinal 2
Northern Mockingbird 6
TOTAL --------------------------------- 42
Not sure that to expect tomorrow, but I am guessing lower numbers. Hopefully
a nice morning, before it gets warm.
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
