I was pleasantly surprised this morning about 7:00 am by 15 Hooded
Mergansers on Little Hunting Creek near the stone bridge over the GW
Parkway.
The birds were gone a short time later but may return. Hoodies have
wintered on Little Hunting Creek every year for the five years I have lived
here.
