Tad Finnell kept the count today. There were strong NW winds with dense haze
in the valley making Purgatory Mountain barely visible. It looked like the
smog gates in the Ohio Valley had been opened. In spite of the haze 107 raptors
of 10 species were tallied including 5 Bald Eagles! Also late this evening
three Common Loons flew over the lookout heading in a southeasterly direction.
