Observations:
Considering we could not see the towers on Bear Den Mt. all day or into the
Waynesboro village all day due to the fog in the distance, I am pleased
with the 348 raptors we had. We had a very LOW OS at 1:30 PM. He came
around the hotel from the West & flew below our eye site. We thought it
was a TV at 1st as they like to fly low over the skating rink. Then we
noticed a flash of white. We all put up the binocluars & were surprised to
see that it was an OS & that we were looking down on him. At 1:45 PM I was
packing up my stuff & going to call it a day as the clouds rolled in & it
looked like rain. Dick Morton noticed a RT so we took a look. Then Nancy
Davidson said to look at the birds behind the RT. Off in the distance over
the Piedmont Valley & high in the sky we counted 186 BW's flying through.
Good catch Nancy!, so I unpacked my stuff & stayed the rest of the day.
The other highlight occured at 2:40 PM when we had 3 OS flying behind each
other, followed by 2 more OS 7 minutes later.
