Weather:
Front pushed through overnight and clearing early morning from the west.
Light wind changed to south and then predominently from NNW throughout the
day produced a stready flow of Broad-wings.

Humidity: 55% dropping to 41%
Bar. Pressure: 1011
Cloud Cover: mostly sunny with scattered cirrus and fluffy clouds to help
find birds in bright blue sky.

As predicted yesterday, early morning BW flight as follows:

8-9 a.m.: 28
9-10 a.m.: 379
10-11 a.m.: 136
11-12 p.m.: 117
12-1 p.m.: 133
1-2 p.m.: 50
2-3 p.m.: 53
3-4 p.m.: 77
4-5 p.m.: 105 (no BW after 5 p.m.)
Decent flight of Sharp-shinned and first double-digit Kestrel and Osprey
day, along with 3 Merlin!
Seven Bald Eagle tied second highest single day record. All adults except
for one immature.
Canada Goose - flock of 20
Double-crested Cormorant - flock of 18
Great Blue Heron - 1 group of 3 at 6:30 p.m. (5:30 EST)

The Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch is held on the grounds of the Inn at Afton, located
on the southern side of Rockfish Gap in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just above
where I-64 (exit 99) intersects with the southern end of the Skyline Drive and
the northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, just east of Waynesboro, VA and
approximately 22 miles west of Charlottesville, VA.
