Weather:
Fog persisted throughout the morning at the higher elevation. Frustrating
when we could see clearing with blue sky out over the Piedmont to the East
and Valley to the West. SE wind increased pushing low clouds up and
over.
By 12:30 p.m. (EST)we could see the north ridge and beyond looking NE.
Relative humidity remained high throughout the day.
Observations:
With clouds moving along over the NE ridge, majority of Broad-wings were
found to our north on west side of ridge going out over the valley.
First Peregrine of the season (2:40 p.m. EST) was found by visitor Bonnie
Shephard. Great views as it circled overhead.
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 3 (un)
Chimney Swift - seemed to be a steady flow throughout the day, even in the
morning fog.
Indigo Bunting - 1 male
Northern Flicker - 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1 (first of the season)
Gull - (Need to review notes. Possible Herring Gull)
Predictions:
morning fog
cloudy
