Weather:
Yesterday's late afternoon flight of 2,177 BW under a high dome of thick,
threatening skies was an unexpecrted surprise and hopes for another big
day were squashed due to bad weather. The clouds dropped overnight
producing light rain and dangerous driving conditions due to dense fog at
the higher elevations. Temps hovered around 57 degrees throughout the
day. Visibility, if any, was a very short distance (approximately 25
yards if that!) making it #!*@ near impossible to find the exit off the
interstate. Figured since I hadn't started the descent I was doing good
and exit was close by. (True dedication on part of co-coordinator to
deliver blank count sheets for when the weather breaks and counters show
up.)
Raptor Observations:
Hopefully somewhere between here and Hawk Mountain, PA 7,000+ Broadwing are
holding up. And, hopefully counters will be ready as soon as the weather
breaks.
