Four birders participated in this Sunday's walk. The highlights were 50
RUSTY BLACKBIRDS and 6 AMERICAN PIPITS. The Rusties were seen just south of
the
Visitors' Center foraging across the path from the picnic area. They were
subsequently encountered heading upstream (perhaps the same flock reported
yesterday from Riverbend Park). We found a lone AMERICAN PIPIT with an
injured leg
on our way back through the picnic area. Five more were found foraging in a
grassy margin across the road from the clay pond. Strong cold winds and a
swift, muddy river kept numbers down today. In Marshall Rawson's absence, I
