All,
While scouting for The Plains CBC, Todd Day and I found a 1st winter
Glaucous Gull at the Fauquier County landfill near Warrenton. The bird
was sitting with the flock when we arrived and was a like a beacon among
the smaller gulls. It was unmistakable. As far as Todd and I know,
this is the first record of this species for Fauquier County. It is
also a great count week bird the CBC as we've never had one before.
