Checked in a G. Richard today. Tough day for birding there with cold
temperatures, heavy fog along the ridges and steady rain. But had the
following of interest:
Common Loon, 1 on Lake Thompson most of the way to alternate plummage
Warblers there included many singing Kentucky, Hooded, Ovenbird, Northern
Waterthrush, Yellow, American Redstart, Canada.
Also a Yellow throated Vireo.
To finish the day, the Cliff Swallows are back on nests at the Casselman
Bridge on RT 7 over the Shenandoah River. Here was also a Warbling Vireo.
