[va-bird] Fort Smith Park, Arlington, Friday, Mar. 26

VA Birders,

Birding highlights for a group of 6 of us on an informal walk at Fort
C.F. Smith Park, Arlington Co., yesterday morning were a pair of Chipping
Sparrows, our first of the year, and a pair of Eastern Bluebirds, which are
rare
inside the Capital Beltway. We had a pair of bluebirds the last time I was
there,
just over a week ago, and we have bluebird boxes out for them in case they
should decide to stay and nest. We also had good views of an adult
Red-shouldered Hawk, circling and calling overhead.

It was really a joy to be out yesterday without winter coats and gloves!
