I may have seen the same birds in Randolph Square yesterday. There were 6
foraging in pine and maple trees. I got a recording of their distinctive
“chirr” call and reported to eBird. Couldn’t see color against the bright
cloudy sky but the ones I could see were drab underneath with black and white
wings. I’ve only seen two other reports of them near Richmond this year, both
this month.

Today 2-27 1 male & 3 females/immature males at feeders in eastern
Goochland County.
Its been quite a while since I've seen these birds in the area- last
time was when we lived in Chesterfield County over 20 years ago.
