It was a pretty good day along the Rt. 1 corridor around Woodgbridge, VA, with
104 species talled. I birded with Kurt Gaskill, Linda Millington, and Kim
Peacock, and made stops at Quanitco marine base, Possum Pt. Rd., Metz Wetlands,
and Occoquan NWR. We found 17 species of warbler (black and white,
worm-eating, prothonotary, pine, palm, prairie, yellowthroated, yellow-rumped,
yellow, black-throated green, blackpoll, parula, redstart, ovenbird, Louisiana
waterthrush, northern waterthrush, yellowthroat), whip-poor-will, both
tanagers, both orioles, blue grosbeak, indigo bunting, warbling vireo,
yellow-billed cuckoo, blue-winged teal, solitary sandpiper, spotted sandpiper,
snipe, among others.
