Along the North Loop & Turkey Loop trails at EC Lawrence Park (and behind
the visitor center), I found:
Black Vulture - 2
TV - 1
Mourning Dove - 2
Flicker - 1
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 6
Downy Woodpecker - 6 (2 females seemed to be engaging in some aggressive
behavior toward each other)
Blue Jay - 6
Chickadee - lots
WB Nuthatch - 2
(in the visitor center I was told that a RB Nuthatch was seen there this
week)
Brown Creeper - 1
Titmouse - lots
Carolina Wren - 10
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1
Bluebird - 1 male (playing chase with a pair of Yellow-rumps)
Robin - everywhere
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 10
Pine Warbler - 6
(in the visitor center I was told that a LA Waterthrush was seen along the
stream this week)
Cardinals - everywhere
White-throated Sparrow - 1
Field Sparrow - 1 (h)
Towhee - 4
Junco - 2
Red-winged Blackbird - 1 (h)
Goldfinch - lots
House Finch - 4
Purple Finch - I saw 6 females and 3 males at the feeders, and there were
more in the nearby trees. I was told in the visitor center that the flock has
been there all winter.
