VA BIRDers,
The regular Sunday Field Trip at Dyke Marsh (sponsored by the Friends of Dyke
Marsh and free to all) was met by sunny weather, low temperatures and low
humidity this morning. Highlight for the day was a Pied-billed Grebe in
Hunting Creek Bay. Other notables were many Canada Geese and Mallards with
young, Osprey catching food for young, E. Kingbird on nest, Warbling Vireo on
nest, a couple of Marsh Wrens, Yellow Warblers, Prothonotary Warbler
(breeding noted on the hike/bike trail on along the big bridge), and both
Orchard and Baltimore Orioles on nest.
