At first it seemed unusual that today brings the first Chimney Swifts here
in Suffolk. Always one of the earlier migrants to come through and readily
apparent due to their chittering, I have been looking for them over the last
two weeks to no avail.
But looking back at my database I see that they seem to be right on time,
with the most frequent arrival date in Suffolk being 4/13. Also had my
first Barn Swallows yesterday, although I see others have already arrived
elsewhere.
