Cameron Run (opposite the Lake Cooke parking lot) yielded a number of
interesting birds yesterday morning (9:30am to 11am) including:
Great Egret (4)
Great Blue Heron (2)
Green Heron (2)
WESTERN SANDPIPER (3)
Killdeer (5)
GREATER YELLOWLEGS (2)
LESSER YELLOWLEGS (8)
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER (3)
Caspian Tern (2)
LEAST SANDPIPER (2)
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER (3)
At Huntley Meadows, my brother & I found:
LITTLE BLUE HERON (1-imm., all white)
Great Egret (1)
Great Blue Heron (1)
Yellow-billed Cuckoo (heard 2)
Gray Catbird (4, by the observation tower)
WHITE-EYED VIREO (1 - juvenile, by the observaton tower)
Great-crested Flycatcher (by the observation tower)
Ruby-throated Humminbird (1 adult male; 1 adult female, 1 juvenile male -- lots
of chasing by the observation tower)
Eastern Phoebe (1, by the observation tower)
Brown Thrasher (1, juvenile, by the observation tower)
Common Yellowthroat (1 adult female by the observation tower; 2 juveniles)
Downy Woodpecker (1 juvenile male by the observation tower)
