VA BIRDers,
This is a quick note to all area Birders that there is still space available
for CVWO's Field Trip to Parker's Marsh, Saturday morning (June 4). Dot
Field of VA Natural Heritage Eastern Shore Region is co-sponsoring this
Adventure. Participants meet at Onancock Marina where we will travel by
boat to the 750 acre saltmarsh on the bayside of the Eastern Shore. This is
a relatively unique environment where Dot will discuss the ecology of the
marsh and participants will see breeders up close and personal, i.e., we
walk on it! Yep, it's amazing! One of the unique experiences that the
Eastern Shore offers. We will look for Northern Harriers, Peregrine
Falcons, all the daylight herons, Seaside Sparrows, Clapper Rails, and
Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrows (also, the pine hummocks have Brown-headed
Nuthatches and Blue Grosbeaks!) plus bugs and plants and other personal
discoveries waiting to happen. The data we collect will add to our
knowledge of this seldom visited location. Write to me at kurtcapt87 at
