Ten people participated in this morning's walk at the 900 acre BRCES in
northwestern Loudoun County. John Drummond led the walk which found 56
species. The highlights of the walk included one Red-breasted Nuthatch, one
White-throated Sparrow, two Swamp Sparrows,10 warbler species (including
Tennessee, Nashville & Blackburnian), five White-eyed Vireos, and at least ten
Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. First we did a loop which included the edge of the
field at the end of Sawmill Rd and Sweet Run, then we did a loop from Arnold
Road and along Piney Run and then we tallied at the Visitor Center and saw:
