Hello all
Today after work I stopped by the Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch & with a SSW wind
blowing not a hawk to be found for the time I was there . So I decided to
travel up Rt. 610 to see what the cloudy weather dropped in on County . After
finding a small group of Chickadees , White Breasted Nuthatches, & Titmouse ,
I stopped the truck -- got out to find a few migrants mixed in . Four Yellow
-bellied Sapsuckers --- One Hermit Thrush & one Black -- throated Blue Warbler
. The big find on Rt . 610 was a group of 51 + Ruby --Crowned Kinglets pushing
their way south across the pine & tree tops . After getting back down in the
valley I stopped by Quillins Pond in Lyndhurst . There I found a few Sparrows &
other migrants which are listed below .
Northern Rough --winged Swallow -- 1 flying with 5 Tree Swallows
House Wren -- 1
MARSH WREN --- 1 maybe 2 birds --- on the outside of the gate in the weedy
patch near the paved lane just under the power lines .
Palm Warbler -- 2
Common Yellowthroat -- 1
Field Sparrow -- 5
Savannah Sparrow -- 15 +
Song --- 19+
Lincoln's -- 4 +
Swamp -- 5 +
White -- Crowned -- 6+
Indigo Bunting -- 7 +
Happy Birding to all !!!!
