Hello all
Yesterday morning I went out to all of my usual ponds to see what the rains
dropped in on us . I started the morning off by going to the Swoope area & here
is what I found there & the other places .
Smith's Pond
Pied billed Grebe -- 1
Great Blue Heron -- 2
Wood Duck -- 4
Gadwall -- 4
Black Duck -- 9
Green winged Teal -- 32
Greater Yellowlegs -- 2
Ring billed Gull -- 1 Also today at AMC I had 8
Boy Scout Camp
Wood Duck -- 3
Surf Scoter -- 1 -- this bird maybe injured ?
Ruddy --5
Fox Sparrow -- 1
McCunes
Great Blue Heron -- 1
Green winged Teal -- 3
Killdeer -- 11
Dunlin --- 1 Late fall date
Bells Lane
Ruddy -- 9 On Saturday I had 14 Bufflehead
Dupont Pond
Black crowned Night Heron -- 1
Stuarts Draft Treatment Plant
Bonaparte's Gull -- 1
Fox Sparrow -- 2
Quillins
Wood Duck -- 41
Green winged Teal -- 29
Greater Yellowlegs --- 3 As of today these birds were still there
Dunlin -- 3 -- Late date
Red Winged Blackbird -- 30
Rusty Blackbird -- 15 +
Now on Friday while at the Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch I had 496 Fish Crow & a late
date for Peregrine Falcon . Also on Friday I had 7 Evening Grosbeaks to fly by
. Today while at the Hawk watch I had a Great Blue Heron , Kingfisher , 5 D C
Cormorants , & the top bird was a lone Tree Swallow to fly thru . I checked
this bird very carefully because of all of the reports of Cave Swallow along
the coast & up north . All in all several good days of birding !!!!
