VA BIRDers,
Sherman Suter and I visited a few places for waterfowl this morning and then
headed to the Prince William County Sanitary Landfill along Rt 234 to see
what was new there. We started viewing Belmont/Occoquan Bay from Mason Neck
SP, Fairfax Co, then Pohick Bay from Pohick Regional Park and then a short
stop at Belmont Marina overlook. Lesser Scaup dominated the birds on
Belmont Bay with ca. 11,000 observed. Here are the rough numbers:
