VA-Birders:
Gene Burreson and I visited Beaverdam Park in Gloucester this weekend
and came up with the following list. We searched the northern section of
the park (entrance from Fary's Mill Rd, separate from the main southern
entrance on Roaring Springs Rd) rather well on Sat morning. I returned
briefly and added a few species on Sun morning. I also visited the southern
section of the park on Sun evening and added an additional species. On the
latter trip a number of warblers went unidentified. As was the case last
spring, the park generated an admirable migrant diversity and pleasant
birding trips. This location is listed on the VA Birding and Wildlife Trail.
