We ran our first BBS route in Shenandoah NP today, we did the Front Royal
route, starting from the entrance sign off of RT 340 and proceeding south to
just past Elk Wallow Wayside area. Temperatures were brisk, starting at 48
degrees F and ending at 58 degrees F.
Birds seen but not part of the count include Turkey Vulture, Black Vulture,
Sharp shinned Hawk and Mourning Dove.
Surprising for us was NO Black billed Cuckoos on the count this year.
