Jeremy McEntire, of Richmond, was working in Roanoke this weekend, and
suggested we bird Warbler Road in Botetourt County. We started in Arcadia, at
the
James River bridge, around 7:30 this morning. We worked our way up to the Blue
Ridge Parkway and found approximately 60 species along the way. Although
several species of Neotropicals have not arrived yet, we still managed to find
13
species of warblers and vireos. They are as follows:

Louisiana Waterthrush - 6
Pine Warbler - 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 3
Black-throated Green Warbler - 10
Northern Parula - 6
Ovenbird - 4
Hooded Warbler - 1
Redstart - 12
Black and White Warbler - 8

Blue-headed Vireo - 8
White -eyed Vireo - 1
Red-eyed Vireo - 3
Yellow-throated Vireo - 1
