[va-bird] Afternoon along the Potomac

Hello Fellow Birders,
Interesting sights today while walking along the Potomac River between Gravelly
Point and the Navy Marine Memorial. Among the usual RING-BILLED GULLS, there
was a HERRING GULL and two GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS. Also present in the trees
was a single YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, DOWNY WOODPECKER, and a few others. In the
skies overhead was a RED-TAILED HAWK and a soaring adult BALD EAGLE. It's
amazing the variety of birds you can see so close to a city with streams of
traffic nearby. Complete list follows...
