With widespread outages, Ned Brinkley has been unable to reach individuals
by email and phone.
Luckily here in Charlottesville our area did not loose power and cell phone
and email still working.
Ned reports some of the following - Bridled, Sandwitch, Sooty Terns.
Leach's Storm Petrel - found in Fauquier County by Todd Day
Herald Petrel - found at Kerr Lake by Brian Patteson
Areas along the western slope of Blue Ridge received substantial amounts of
rain (12" near Sherando) and there is still widespread flooding in the low
lying areas. Here in Charlottesville rain has stopped, winds have
subsided substantially and there are breaks in the clouds to our east.
I'm getting ready to head up to the hawk watch and may check out some of
the area ponds along the way. The cleanup can wait as anything that may
have been blown our way won't stick around for long.
