"Doc Sawbones and Her First Patient" Captain Lindsey Craig and Lt. PK Tomilson Small, was the first thing that struck Lindsey when she poked her head around the door to Sick Bay. Admittedly she was used to the facilities of a Galaxy Class so that was probably why it all felt so contained. "I could get claustrophobic working in here, if I were the CMO," she muttered. Laughing at herself, she headed to the back in search of Tomilson. PK was still sitting in her office going over the crew list to see who would need to have their physical first. Of course all crew member's would require a physical and of course all crew members would balk at having to have one. It was the bain of a physician's existence. Taking a much needed break she got up to get herself a drink. She went to the replicator and asked for an Ice tea, however what she got was a blast of cold water straight at her chest. "Damn machine! You would think that everything would be working on a new ship. Now I have to go and change." "You would, wouldn't you?" Lindsey smiled from the doorway. "I'll get Rosie on it when she's done with her long list of other ship-wide malfunctions." Shrugging, she added, "That's what you get for sending out a ship without a shake-down cruise, I guess." Lindsey offered her hand to the soaked doctor. "I'm Lindsey Craig, by the way." PK turned in her now soggy uniform to face the Captain of the ship. "Uh Hi, I am PK Tomilson, but I'm assuming you already know that. Sorry for the disarray of my uniform." PK took the offered hand. "I hope you are not here for your physical, because if the replicator is any indication I wouldn't trust a pet rock to these machines just yet. Now if you want one done the old fashioned way I am sure I can accommodate you." "Well mostly I just came in to say hi and see how you're settling in, Doc Sawbones was it?" she said with a crooked grin. "But I'm all yours if you want to get your first official medical out of the way." "That's me, good 'ole Doc Sawbones. Trustiest person around with a saw, just in case you are ever in need of one. As for your physical if you really want to get it over with I would be more than happy to take care of that for you. Although right now I'm not sure I trust these machines just yet as I haven't had a chance to check them all out. If they are anything like the replicator I think we better stick to my own personal tricorder and other equipment. Just give me a minute to go find them all and I will be right back with you. Just have a seat, hopefully the back won't fall off." Leaving the CO of the ship alone for a few minutes PK searched her office for a dry uniform as well as her tricorder and other supplies. She wanted to see how tough this CO was going to be so she also dragged out her antiquated equipment as well. Things such as her reflex hammer, stethoscope, the thingy to check ear drums and look in noses, blood pressure cuff and thermometer, although she wasn't sure if it went in the mouth or the other end. They would both soon find out. Hiding her tricorder in her pocket PK walked back into sickbay with her "goodies" to see how well her captain was. Eying the equipment with a smirk, Lindsey pulled herself onto a biobed. "I'm all yours, Doc," she said with a chuckle. "You got more guts than I thought you had. Most people would take one look at this antiquated stuff and take off running. I'll give you credit." PK pulled out her own personal tricorder and began to scan the CO trying not to laugh to hard. "Well, according to this, other than a case of nerves you appear to be in fine health. I would imagine the nerves are from taking command of your first ship. Take two shots of something in the morning and call me." Putting the tricorder away and taking some notes PK declared the Captain fit for duty. "Just stay away from stray replicators and you will be fine. Any questions?" "Only one: do I get a button and a lollipop for being a good girl?" Lindsey grinned. "I don't have any button's but I'm sure I can find a lollipop for you in my office stash." PK laughed. She was going to have fun with this CO. "Just one last question? Do I have to call you Captain all the time or can I call you Lindesy?" With a raised eyebrow, she said, "Since when has Doc Sawbones ever called a CO by their title? Call me Lindsey." "Well, in that case, here is your lollipop and feel free to drop by anytime Lindsey. It was a pleasure doing business with you and I will send you the bill later."
