"Life Changes"
Ensign Ariana LaRue and Lt. Siobhan Nichols

Von lay there, holding Ari gently in her arms for what seemed an eternity
before coming back to herself and remembering where they were.
Ari was leaning against the back wall of the decontamination chamber
watching Von. Watching her breathe, her face and wondering where things were
going
to go from here. "Hmm, you're up. I was beginning to consider this my new
quarters. So how are you?"

"Better now that I've found you, but we might not want to live here too much
longer. It gets busy at shift change," she grinned, showing her chronometer
to Ari, indicating it was almost that time. Pulling Von up Ari kissed her
gently and sighed. "Any suggestion's and why better now that you have found
me?" God knows I am certainly better

Von blushed. "You're going to make me say it?" she asked before returning
the kiss with another. Gathering her garments, and handing Ari her own, she
began to dress. Ari quickly started to dress and watched as Von did the
same.
"I take it the hand works now, and yes, I am going to make you say whatever
its that makes you blush."

"Quite the devil, " she laughed quietly, as she finished dressing and stood,
still blushing, though she tried to hide it. "Fine then. It's better since
meeting you because I've been looking my whole life for someone to make me
feel as treasured and wanted and needed in every inch of my being as you made
me
feel. Someone who needed me as I did them. Someone I could easily love and
be loved by. Does that answer it?"

Ari looked into Von's eyes before she answered. She could sense that she
really meant it. "Yes, it answer's it, because I have been looking for the
same
thing. I am tired of the games people play. I don't give myself lightly or to
just anyone. You never did answer if the hand was working properly?" Ari
just smiled.
Von laughed. "Yes, silly, I fixed it before we came in here." Ari just
grinned. "So, once we leave this chamber where do we go from here?" Ari knew
what
she wanted but she was the subordinate here.

"Way I see it, we've got two choices. I can come to you, or we can kick out
Tawny and you can come to me. You choose." She looked at her seriously then
and added. "Choose quickly, though, because I won't be without you now that
I've found you." "Well, since I live alone I would think that would be the
best choice, but is it the best choice for your career and rank? Might not
seem
proper living with a mere ensign."

"Fuck rank," Von answered adamantly. "and fuck proper. Tawny'll be glad for
your choice. She hates moving." Winking, she grinned and hugged her again,
kissing her quickly, before heading for the door. "Let's go get your hand."
Ari
was again taken aback at Von's brashness, yet found it exhilarating. As she
was hugging Von back she looked down and saw she had both hands and started
to laugh. "Don't you mean my attachment's," as she held up her hand.

"I must warn you I may not be the neatest of people and sometimes the
Klingon in me will come out but I usually have it under control and the bed
you
have now is most likely bigger than what I have. So be sure this is what you
want."
Von looked at her seriously. "I'm sure you're what I want." Smirking
slightly, she added, "So I'll just requisition us a new bed."

The demons were no longer playing in Ari's head. "Well, as they say on
earth, lead on McDuff" Ari followed Von out of the decontamination chamber
keeping
her eye on that ass.
Von led her out to the table where her attachments remained and, handing
them to her, kissed her full on the lips in front of both shifts, those just
going off and those coming on. "Gonna go pack," she said, not caring who heard
her. "See you in a bit."

Ari was surprised at the brashness of the amazing woman and wasn't quite
sure what to say. She knew she wanted her and that was all that matter. "Sure,
bring everything. It will work," Ari replied never taking her eyes off of
Von's face. God she was falling for this woman and falling hard. She wanted
her
even more after that last kiss. Von what the hell have you done to me.

Von nodded, not trusting herself to answer. She'd never wanted anyone the
way she wanted her. Dammit, Ari. Do you know what you've done? Suddenly she
couldn't imagine another day in her life without Ari in it. "I'll bring all I
have." She said at last, hoping Ari understood she meant more than just
clothes. She was offering her all of herself if she would but accept it.

Tawny reentered engineering distracted and slightly perplexed, her mind on
the woman she'd just met, only to find her roommate with the young ensign
she'd left her with still in her arms in front of everyone. "Um...Von...can I
talk to you?" she asked.

"Sure," Von answered, smiling slightly. "But how about I call you after I
get home?"
Tawny looked at her as though she'd lost her mind. "Call me?" she asked,
brow raised. "I live with you, remember."

"Not anymore," Von answered with a smile. "I'm moving in with Ari."
Tawny looked at Von, certain beyond all doubt she'd lost her mind.
"Um..yeah, okay..." reaching out to take Von by the arm, she pulled her gently
from
Ari. "Excuse us a second, would you honey?" Von laughed, but let herself be
dragged away. "Be right back," she whispered, planting another quick kiss
before
she was out of reach.

Once she thought they were well enough out of earshot, Tawny hissed, "Have
you lost your freaking mind? Moving in with her? You just met her!"

"Yes, I did, and maybe I have," Von answered, still smiling. "Isn't that
wonderful?"
Tawny looked at her, exasperated. "Do you know anything about her?" Von
shook her head. "Nope. I'll learn as we go along."

"Von," Tawny began again, then stopped. She knew that look in her best
friends eyes. She'd seen it before, when she'd made up her mind, and knew
there
was no talking her out of it. Finally, she sighed. "Okay...." she said
quietly,
hugging her gently. "I'll help you pack." Walking her back to Ari, she
warned her quietly, "don't hurt her."

Ari looked at Tawny for a moment. "You needn't worry about that. She is the
most amazing person I have ever met and I can understand why you are so
protective of her, but I can be just as protective of someone I care about. I
hope
someday you find someone and feel the same way."

Again, Tawny's thoughts turned to the woman she'd just met. She nodded
slightly. "So do I." she said with a sigh.
"Okay," Von said, gathering her tools and making for the door. "Come on,
times wasting. We've got a move to make." Smiling brightly, she held the door
for them to follow.

Ari looked at Tawny, "is she always this energetic? I also have a feeling
you will meet your special someone sooner than you think." Looking at Von, Ari
grabbed her attachments and headed toward the door. "Coming already."

Tawny watched them go, gathering her own tools as the doors closed behind
them. Perhaps, she thought silently to herself, she already had.
