:ON:
Gwen stood in the small room that was her quarters on the tiny
Orion ship. It really didn't have much as far as amenities were
concerned, but it did have one small mirror, which is what Gwen was
looking at now. She scarcely recognized herself anymore. The doctor
had done a good job in altering her looks so that the Theonian Captain
wouldn't recognize her. The most striking change was that of her
hair. It was no longer the flaming red that she was used to. Instead
it was a dark shade of brown, it might almost be mistaken for black.
Her eyes, too, had changed color. They were now black. All the better
for negotiating.
Gwen wanted Rommie and Soren to join her in the negotiations.
Soren wasn't likely to be recognized, though Rommie was. He would ask
him to modify his looks as well. Though, he didn't need as drastic of
a change as she did. There was also the issue of his stuttering.
That wasn't something overly common. She was definitely going to have
to talk to him. It might be best if he didn't talk to anyone but her
while off the ship. Actually it might be best if no one from the
Trojan Horse talked to anyone but her. The more mysterious she was,
the better.
Gwen left her quarters and headed up the bridge to talk to
Rommie. She needed to keep herself busy, while she figured out exactly
what they were going to do in the negotiations. Gwen also wanted to
talk to Josie and Tru. While she was gone, they would need to continue
looking for signs of the Chekov. Gwen didn't want them following it,
but rather just track it. Also, if they spotted the Chekov, Tru would
need to plot a course that would take them within the necessary
distance, but not arouse any suspicions. That wouldn't be easy, but
Gwen was confident that Tru was up to the task.
