Chief Engineer's Log, Stardate 60453.85 We have brought the remains of a small ship into the shuttle bay. Dr. Melody's people have removed the bodies. Initial scans of the ship show it was ripped open by the blast of the planet. My guess is it was appriximately 225,000 kilometers from the planet when it exploded. There is no signs of warp engines, so there is no way they could have avoided this from happening.
