"Attention, ladies and gentlemen. I know most of you were looking forward to
a little R and R, so was I, but it looks like we're going to have to wait a
little longer. We have our new mission. We're needed in 2267. The Alpha
Quadrant. A ship called Enterprise has been taken over by a group of
genetically
engineered humans from late 20th century Earth, led by one Khan Noonian Singh.
The whereabouts and condition of her captain, one James Tiberius Kirk, is
unknown at this time. Clearly, this is not an acceptable version of history."
Millie drew a deep breath. "I have sent the temporal coordinates to the helm.
We will depart immediately. Department heads are to report to my ready room
for further details. Putnam out."
Michael looked up from the terminal he was working on, and just shook his
head. "Another mission so soon, what is going on, that we have to fix so many
things." But of course, this one is Kirk, so the end must be resolved, he
thought.
He closed out the report that he was working on, and started to gather the
information on Kirk. The various timelines and temporal incursions that had
occurred. Earth, 1986. Veridian III, Stardate 48632.4. Earth, 1930. And
fourteen other occurrences. To himself, "It's no wonder we haven't had to fix
more issues surrounding Kirk." But this one seemed different.
Michael closed the report and rubbed his eyes, ever since being retrieved,
temporal mechanics made his head hurt.
