Alan,
I hope this message finds you well. I remembered that you knew Jay so I wanted
to forward what I learned earlier today from HR.
We want to inform you that Jay Leventhal, who worked for AFB from 1986 - 2009,
passed away. Jay joined AFB in 1986 as part of AFB's National Technology
Center team and held a number of positions during his tenure. Jay's dedication
to improving access for blind and visually impaired people and wry sense of
humor will be missed. If we learn more information, such as where condolences
can be sent, we will pass them on.

The Board of Trustees and staff of JBI International, Inc. (established in 1931
as The Jewish Braille Institute) mourn the passing of Jay Leventhal, a staff
member, a volunteer and a longtime Trustee. He was courageous in dealing with
his illness and determined to continue actively working under difficult
circumstances. We will miss him. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and
