I saw my first and only Varied Thrush this season on Sunday in the woods around
our house. We've had large numbers years past. As for the flocks of robins and
waxwings the numbers this year were far higher then we've ever had in the past
17 years.

I have 12 Varied Thrush up here feeding in amongst Juncos. Thought I heard more
than my usual one song this morning, but wasn't sure because I didn't want to
slog through 4-5 inches of snow to get closer. Now they've graced me not to0
far from my kitchen windows! :)Stacy Burleigh

I hear a Black Phoebe and wonder how it will do. Fortunately for this one, it
has the neighbor's half-acre open horse barn to forage in.
