Hi Francis,
You seem to be getting a lot of interesting observations. Keep them coming.
Something that our research group is currently discussing is related to large
amount of video to search to find that one interesting observation. Check out
this website:

It could save quite a bit of time.

Subject: [Umpqua Birds] Pileated Woodpeckers at the waterhole
Yesterday a couple of pileated woodpeckers showed up at the shrinking
waterhole, setting off the motion detector of the trail cam. We continue to get
lots of common mammals (bats, raccoons, squirrels and opossum), but no hawks or
owls recently.
This is a first for the pileated woodpeckers. I wonder where they went to drink
and bath before this?

Turn up your volume and you can hear the smaller of the two call at the
beginning of the movie. The video was taken in 4 parts in 9-sec videos, one
taken immediately after the other, at about 12:30 p.m.
I think we are seeing a juvenile and an adult, as one seems a lot bigger than
the other.
Francis
