Today I spread about 20 cubic yards of somewhat composted wood debris/chips
over a 35 ft diameter area. To my delight, w/in 30 mins there were 15+
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, 8 WESTERN BLUEBIRDS, and a few others (waxwing,
junco, jay) foraging on various larval and flying insects exposed by this
effort. I sat on the tailgate of my pickup for a half hour watching the
fun.
