The below email was sent to Mrs. McCormick and she asked that I
forward it to all parents regarding this weekend's ARC
Competition/fundraiser:
Spring has sprung, music is in the air, and sequins and jazz hands are
in fashion this Saturday night at 7pm in the Oakdale High School
auditorium! The Frederick County Show Choir Festival will feature the
hard work of four award-winning show choirs from FCPS celebrating the
very best in pop music and dancing. The show choirs of Urbana High,
Tuscarora High, Oakdale High, and Thurmont Middle will entertain the
audience with each of their award-winning programs. It’s high-energy
fun for the entire family, but you can not delay in purchasing your
tickets!
In addition to each school performing their 20 minute program that
evening, all 125 students will be working hard the morning and the
afternoon of the festival with Thomas Murphy from Walt Disney World
Event Productions in Orlando, FL to learn and perform a very special
group number to close out the festival that evening. Mr. Murphy has
been an award-winning performer, choreographer, and producer with the
Walt Disney company for over 30 years, and he will bring his
expertise, experience and talent to the students of FCPS and the show
choir festival to create an amazing finale that is not to be missed!
Let’s just say it will definitely make you “Happy”!
All tickets sold at the door the night of the concert will be $10,
regardless of age, so purchase your tickets EARLY as we are expecting
a large crowd for the festival! All proceeds for The Show Choir
Festival will go directly to The ARC of Frederick County.
