August is here. Friendly reminder about no general meeting for August so enjoy
some well-deserved vacation.
A few news-worthy atachments for your reading pleasure.
Many exciting things in the works, but a special one as far as the streetcar.
Bring the Streetcar into our Neighborhood!!
As you may have seen, the Enquirer posted the following article
http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100804/NEWS0108/8050358/Streetcar-No-going-back-now
which essentially confirms that the Streetcar will in fact happen and that
when it does it will come to the Uptown. The only question being debated at
this point is how (West Clifton or Vine) and based on a meeting with the City
Manager last week, that decision will be occurring sooner rather than later.
With that in mind, it is important that we mobilize as individuals and and as
groups and ask that they communicate our desire to the City Administration.
You can be sure that the advocates for Vine Street will be doing a similar
letter writing campaign and given the apparent short window of time before a
decision is made, I think it's important that we do this now.
If you agree, I would like to ask that you communicate your position to the
City in your own words. Several documents are attached that may provide useful
information in making those points, but I think it's best that each
communication be individual and not a form letter. Any communications should

CUF membership
Any person subscribing to the purpose of the CUF Neighborhood Association, Inc.
and paying dues set by the Association may become a member. Election of
Trustees is held at the annual meeting in July. Eligible voters are residents
of the community who are at least 18 years of age and who are fully paid
members of the Association and who have at¬tended three general meetings after
payment of dues during the year prior to the annual meeting. Non-res¬ident
members have voice but no vote in Association meetings and may not hold
elective office. Annual CUF dues are $6.00.
