Question
I have found the information in the technical material guidance of a ? used to
denote missing information e.g. 3+7 = ? (section 3.6). However I am in the
middle of a maths worksheet where there are four, and sometimes five ?
appearing next to one another e.g.
5,326 + ???? = 6,425
??,??? + 3,428 = 50,000
Can the Grade 1 indicator set for more than one ? in a series or do I need one
before each ?

Answer
In your text the question mark is replacing a missing digit. As you know, the
standard braille symbol for question mark is dots 236. But this is also the
sign for open quotes. But the open quotes is only valid at the beginning of a
word. So, in order to emphasise that it is a question mark at the start of a
"word" you need to add a grade 1 symbol indicator - you are quite correct.
If you have a series of question marks, you only need to write dots 236, you
don't need to repeat the grade 1 indicator.
So, here are your examples in UEB:

#e1cbf"68888 "7 #f1dbe

;881888"6#c1dbh "7 #ej1jjj

The Rules of Unified English Braille (RUEB) have similar examples of multiple
question marks in section 7.5.
