Hi Paul
The link for the archive which has all previous posts is
//www.freelists.org/archive/ueb-ed/
The idea is to send any UEB code queries to ueb-ed@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and then
someone will answer. If queries come into RNIB, off list, I send the question
and answer to the list so that everyone can benefit from the clarifications and
explanations being given
Best wishes
Mandy

Is there an archive to access Mandy White's previous questions and answers?

Cheers,

Sincerely yours,

Question
I've noticed in computer addresses quoted in magazines that contractions are
now used. Does this mean that there is a different code for numbers now?

Answer
One of the advantages of UEB is that there is no special computer code. So,
when you write an email or web address, you can treat it as ordinary text.
So, yes, you can use contractions and for numbers use the ordinary signs.
UEB has signs for all the symbols you might get in computer text, such as
the backslash, square and curly brackets, underscore, tilde etc
