After Diana Richmond's response about obtaining Microsoft Office through the
U3A I enquired today about this and what other software might be available
to U3A members.
I was quoted £97.03 (inc. VAT and delivery) for MS Office 2007 Professional
which is the full suite which includes Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and
Publisher. This is, I am told, the only version of Office they will now
source.
This version was developed in conjunction with Windows Vista but will run
with Windows XP SR2.
Other editions, like the Student one will be cheaper but will not include
Access and maybe other parts - but these will not be required by everybody.
'Other products' may be obtainable through U3A but there is no list and the
discount rate is variable - so it may be worth trying contacting the
National Office on 020 8466 6139 or website@xxxxxxxxxx if you want to
purchase software.
