"Settling In"
Lt. Cmdr CJ Tucker, CENG

Having put all her belongings in her quarter's CJ checked her uniform,
making sure all was in order. She had her D'k tahg in her boot, her PADD's full
 of
notes and a few other miscellaneous items for her office. She left her
quarter's and made her way to Engineering, her domain. She was the ruler of
this
domain and what she said was obeyed.

She walked into engineering and noticed that her staff was busy, which was a
good thing. Granted the ship had passed it's original shakedown cruise but
she was not ready to put it through difficult and strenous maneuvers until
such
time that she was satisfied that it wasn't going to fall apart. That's all
she needed was to have a warp core breach or matter/antimatter decontainment
just because someone wanted to see what the ship could do.

Once in her office she sat at her desk and leaned back in her chair. She
placed the PADD's on the desk and went through the list of messages on the
computer. One was from the Doctor which she immediately deleted. She would send

him the results of her most recent physical. Next was a message about the new
Captain taking over command of the ship. It was going to be interesting working
for a Klingon, but she had worked for worse. He certainly couldn't be worse
than Commodore Weasley. Now he was a true joke.

She placed a picture of her favorite place on her desk, than began going
over crew reports. It appeared that for the majority of the engineering
staff, this was their first assignment. That was going to make for a very
interesting
staff. I just hope I don't have to so a lot of hand holding. Hopefully they
know enough that they will be able to function.

After finishing the crew reports she walked out into main engineering and
walked around. Ensign Thompson was checking the relays which appeared to be
working within normal parameters. Ensign Franklin was checking the
matter/antimatter containment field which was stable. So far everything was
looking good.
After a few more checks she would give the all clear for more complicated
manevers, within reason. There was no need to push the ship unless absolutely
neccesary. Why some people didn't understand that she would never know.

Having made her rounds, CJ returned to her office closing the door behind
her and replicated herself a drink. She filed her reports for the day and gave
report to the next shift. Her time was done for now and it was time to play.
