Field Camp 2008 Info Session: Monday, March 24, at 4:00 in the Physical Geography Building, Room 101 Ballot forms and course outlines can now be picked up from Room 5047 Sidney Smith Hall (Department of Geography) or on the web at: http://www.geog.utoronto.ca/programs/geog/under/GGR390ballot.pdf Instructors ? J. Desloges and S. Finkelstein Field camp consists of an introduction to basic field methods in several areas of physical geography including: climatology, hydrology, biogeography, soils and geomorphology. - The field component of the course occurs prior to the start of term (Labour Day departure). -The course content is directed towards research design, data collection and analysis. -The data collected during field camp will be analyzed during the fall term. -During term time, students will complete an independent assignment as well as a group paper and presentation. Location: Southwestern Quebec working out of the town of Sutton. Travel will be in a convoy of 7-passenger minivans. The dates are: Monday, Sept. 1 ? Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 Cost: Those students who have balloted successfully must provide us with a cheque for $500 (payable to the University of Toronto) by Monday, June 2nd. In addition to the field costs you must also pay tuition for a half course. No refunds for the field cost will be available after June 30th. Balloting: Ballot forms are due no later than Monday, April 7th, 2008.
