Thanks for your ideas about the various problems I have mentioned.

I did try to reverse the drive letters between Vista C: and Win7 B: and when I now look back many I have partially succeeded!

When I open msconfig>Boot> I see this:
So it appears that W7 is now set up the way I wanted it and I only have to exchange the drive letters.
I have change drive letters before for USB drives in Disk Management and I think I should be able to do it there with W7 containing the OS.

I just check Disk Management and found a nice surprise:
So I guess it would be better to not make any changes in the drive letters since some files and folders may be dedicated to a certain drive.

Armando, I sorry I couldn't find out for sure what POS(*) means.

And when I looked back you had told me about Flashget way back in 2006! WOW, how time goes by.
But it must have been to advanced at the time for me to use it.

With the Adobe Flash problem I am having I will have to wait to give it a try;
and as usual, thanks for recommending it and providing all the links.
I can't tell you how many programs I have used that your recommended!

I took a quick look at the BitBox link information and wondered if maybe it doesn't depend on Flash I could switch to it?

Otherwise I guess the verdict is split on Firefox, and since other have used it successfully as I have it is probable best I keep using it.
However, I think that Firefox in not my problem it is something that is blocking Flash from installing.
I hated to go way back and choose a Restore point to try and shake the problem because of all the deletions it would cause.
I do also have a back up I made using Eases backup that maybe I could try to use.

I think I will look at using 1 of these two possibilities since there doesn't seem to be any other solutions.

Brian, there is a flash removal tool that might  clean up some of this? No money back guarantee, but it’s already broke, Can’t hurt to try it now?

 

Also, one of the older drive scanner programs used to have a feature for swapping drives. You’d change the boot drive, like your changing b to c. Then you’d run the 2nd part to swap all the links that point to b and change the links to point to c. Can’t remember the name right now and not in my office. True Image also gives you the option of changing drive letters. Yu run the program to save the image, then when you want to reinstall the image you can tell it what drive letter to use.

 

Saw all the rants about dual boots etc and thought I’d add my 2 cents…

As to Vista and 7 dual booting, why not? I've got them both, along with 12 different versions of Linux, all in the same box.

Hello to all TTT members,

I have encountered a problem that seems basic but I simply can't solve it no matter what I try.
I hope someone has experience with this problem.

I am using W7 64Bit with Firefox.

The problem involves not being able to install Adobe Flash Player.

When displaying web pages there are sections missing.
E.G, this message is displayed when I go to this site to display a chart: http://tinyurl.com/895j5ll



So I then click the message and it displays this:

Then when I click to find the missing Plug In it finds it: Flash Player:

So hopefully I click and expect it will install the plug In.
All looks promising as it starts to install. . . .

But then it stops updating and displays this message stating that Firefox has disabled Flash:

It takes me to a Plug In page indicating the Java is outdated so  I update both the 32 and 64 bit version of Java.

So I update Java but it didn't help at all; the same problem exists.
When I try to install Adobe Flash Player this is displayed and the entire cycle is repeated :



My system is a dual boot with Win7 and Vista; could that be a problem even when only using Win7?

I hope someone has an idea what could be causing this.
