It was fun to see which counties tallied the most moths last year. It makes it more challenging if there is a goal to work toward (and makes going out every night a bit easier if you know there may be something new on the sheet!). The true "winner" is the state tally, the more species we get, the better. :) I'll be gone to CA for 10 days next month, I know I'll be suffering moth withdrawls! Ha! I don't know if my son and daughter-in-law would let me set up a sheet and black light at their condo or not! My neighbors are used to me wandering around at night with a head lamp, theirs might call the cops on me! It would be interesting to see what could be seen in the San Jose area. I guess I'll have to be happy with photographing birds! I didn't realize it was a competition! :-) With a possibility of 2500 or so species in the state, there are still a few left to find. I'm pretty sure Jean isn't far behind my totals.
