The Carolina Wren does it here. Snip. Snip. Cart the body off to feed her
babies.

Ken, that's exactly what has been eating my moths. The beautiful Pandorus
Sphinx was only a few wings and so was the Polyphemus moth. However, I did
admire the precision the bird has leaving just the perfectly cut off wings. And
they are very noisy about it too!.

I find perfect sets of Luna wings every summer near a street light on my
property. I figured it was bats until recently when one morning after seeing a
Luna on my sheet I found a set next to the sheet. There's a Mockingbird I've
seen near the sheet every morning so maybe that's what been eating the Lunas. I
turn the lights off after my last check at 3 to 4 A.M. but I know that Lunas
don't always leave once they've settled in.

I had one Luna at my house, but it would not sit still for a nice portrait!
I saw 2 at Frozen Head SP in Morgan Co. (5-9-11) and the wings of one at
Standing Stone SP (5-27-11) in Overton Co.
I don't know if pieces count or not! :)

I haven't seen any Lunas in years, except one dead one in the woods last
year. This year I have had three.

      :-)

I'm trying to figure out why the large moths find it necessary to crash
into me several times before they make it to the sheet. Last night 2 Sphinx
Moths and a Luna let me know about their arrival in this manner.

That makes 6 Lunas for the year. I don't know what others normally see
but considering I didn't see any last year, this seems like a lot.
