Some species of dragons look their best when they're in the middle of the 
transformation from immature to mature male. I recently saw a shot of a Great 
Blue Skimmer like that and it looked awesome!

I've seen plenty of young male Eastern Pondhawks in the middle of their color 
change but never one like this. Usually the entire abdomen changes to blue at 
the same pace but this one still has all that black.
