Subject: [tn-dragonflies] Great Blue Skimmer and Ebony Jewelwings

Today I visited Buffalo Springs Wildlife management Area in Grainger County.
There were in excess of 50 Ebony Jewelwing Damselflies around the waterfall
downstream of the outlet of the TWRA trout hatchery. There were only
slightly more males than females.

While there I found a pair of whit I believe to be Great Blue Skimmers.
Since I had never seen one before, and this species does not appear on many
county records, I decided to post the photo for comment. It is all blue
abdomen and thorax, with green eyes and a white face. The wing pattern
matches the illustration in Beaton's guide. Do I have it right?

Best regfards,
