This is what I was originally thinking. The purple sheen = Little Glassywing but there isn't white noticeable at the base of the antennal clubs. Gold head = Dun but the strong markings and the purple sheen don't seem to fit, even for a female. So far I have 2 votes for Little Glassywing and 3 for Dun (extremely fresh female). One of the replies gave some great detailed info and a link (see below) which has me going with Dun. http://butterfliesofamerica.com/euphyes_vestris_metacomet_specimens2.htm Ken Childs Henderson, TN Chester County http://www.finishflagfarms.com ________________________________ From: kjchilds <kjchilds@xxxxxxxxx> To: TN Butterflies <TN-Butterflies@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thu, September 23, 2010 3:48:23 PM Subject: [TN-Butterflies] skipper ID help needed I shot this a couple of hours ago in Henderson County. I have some thoughts on what it is but it's needs to be a definitive ID because it will probably be a BAMONA record so I'd like some opinions from those of you that know about such things. . http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p193/kjchilds/IMG_7871.jpg Ken Childs Henderson, TN Chester County http://www.finishflagfarms.com
