We spent several hours this afternoon in Prentice Cooper WMA. There seemed to
be less total number of butterflies around over all.

Here’s what we saw.
Red Admiral
Summer Azure
Common Buckeye
Eastern Comma
Diana Fritillary
Great Spangled Fritillary
Gulf Fritillary
Banded Hairstreak
Coral Hairstreak
Least Skipper
American Snout
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
Pipevine Swallowtail
Spicebush Swallowtail

The Banded Hairstreaks and Diana Fritillaries were the most numerous, the
rest of the species we saw very few of including the Great Spangled
Fritillary and usually this time of year they are everywhere.
